“Women in Community” Amanda Jessie

If everyone could have a great big heart like Amanda, this world would be a much better place!

Our "Women in Community" for the month of April has us feeling all things spring and pretty! Get to know our gal below!

  1. Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I was born and raised in Ardmore, OK. I moved to Norman to attend the University of Oklahoma and stayed in the area after completing. I enjoy spending time with family/friends, crime podcasts, sports, binge watching TV series and traveling.

  1. What do you currently do and what do you love most about your job?

I currently work at Norman Regional Health System, I am the Medical Staff Services Credentialing Specialist and Emergency Medicine Residency Supervisor. I absolutely love working in healthcare. I feel that it is forever changing and most importantly helping people with their medical needs. What I love most is watching our residents start as interns and finish their 4th year ready to start their careers as Physicians (definitely the teacher in me). It is rewarding to see individuals accomplish their goals!

  1. What do you love most about living in Oklahoma?

I love that Oklahoma is continuously growing, there is plenty of things to do for any age. I like that it is bigger, but has a small town ambience.

  1. What are some of your favorite local places to shop and eat?

To shop, that is easy, Nhu AvenueJ! I enjoy trying to new local restaurants…my favorites are Sushi Neko, Drum Room, and Sauced on Paseo.

  1. List 3 things that are a must do if someone wants to visit OKC?

I love sports, so I would say OU football game in Norman or OKC Thunder game. I think spending time walking around downtown/midtown to enjoy a variety of locally owned restaurants and shops. I love Scissortail park, they host plenty of events with yummy food trucks.
